Holywell Green Primary School is situated in the community of Holywell Green which is located a few miles from Halifax. The school was built in 1915 but has had many recent developments that extend it to its current size.
The buildings are of both traditional Victorian character and more modern design. The school is located next to Stainland Road and has beautiful views over the nearby deer park and valley.
Holywell Green Primary School provides a welcoming, happy and stimulating learning environment where there is a commitment to high standards. We strive to realise individual potential and develop respect for the community to which our children belong.
The school has excellent facilities including an IT suite. All the classrooms are equipped with the latest technology including interactive whiteboards. The children also make use of a variety of IT equipment including i pads and digital cameras.
Other facilities include large playing fields for PE, a wildlife area and a brand new trim trail.
Within school we have a large hall that is used for assembly, drama, music, PE and Christmas productions and festivities. We are also fortunate in having a separate dining hall where the children can eat either a hot meal or their own sandwiches.
The staff and Governors of the school work hard to ensure that the needs of every child are met.
206 full-time pupils are currently on-roll. In addition, 33 children attend the school's nursery unit.
The number of teaching staff employed, including the Headteacher, in September 2019, will be eight full-time and five part-time. Additionally, 11 support staff are employed to support the children in their learning.
The Chair of The Governing Body is Ms Su Halliday.
