Understanding Our Results

As a small community primary school, our cohort sizes are much smaller than those of many larger schools. Some year groups contain fewer than 15 pupils, meaning the achievement of just one child can change published percentages by more than 6 percentage points. As a result, assessment outcomes can vary from year to year.

We therefore look beyond headline figures and carefully monitor pupils' attainment and progress over time. Our focus is on ensuring every child makes strong progress from their individual starting points, achieves their full potential and leaves Holywell Green Primary School well prepared for the next stage of their education.

We encourage parents to consider our results over several years alongside the quality of our curriculum, the progress children make, and the wider opportunities and support we provide to help every child flourish.

Our curriculum is carefully adapted so every child can succeed regardless of starting point. Children with SEND receive personalised support while remaining fully involved in school life wherever possible.

Achievement is measured not only by attainment but also by the progress each child makes from their individual starting points.

Our most recent inspection took place in March 2023 and the school was graded as being Good.
